Teach Math Well presents multiple lessons and resources for energizing and empowering your math class. Though many of the lessons are focused on the fifth grade Common Core Standards, all lessons can be modified or enriched to meet the needs of any math students who are ready to learn the topics presented. Early School Year Focus on Landmark Numbers
Last year I began the math year with a focus on landmark numbers. The introduction proved to be helpful with regard to creating a community of math learners who had common language, patterns, tools, resources, and routines.
I will weave the landmark number lessons into the early year math curriculum again this year. In the days ahead I'll revisit this unit to revise, add, and enrich. In the meantime if you have ideas for change and enrichment, let me know.
